Telematics - Wunelli and EE (Tmobile / Orange) to develop mobile-to-mobile communications to deliver driving info to insurers

Telematics provider Wunelli has joined forces with communication giant EE to develop mobile-to-mobile network communications to deliver vehicle driving and usage patterns to insurers.

The firms aim to provide drivers with instant, free access to a score for their driving behaviour without downloading an app and avoiding the need for insurers to incur in large costs for data acquisition.

The concept could also open up the potential for drivers to request their ‘driving DNA' to present to insurers when renewing their policies or new business quotations.

Wunelli hopes the technology would remove the high cost of data acquisition insurers and brokers currently pay.
